This should just be like an understood thing on the internet. Because the internet (1) gives you access to a shitload of people and (2) gives you access to a shitload of people.

Because you know what? They are lame.
They might be awesomely creative and photographically inclined or whatever but like DUDE there are only 24 hours in a day, sorry I missed your last Tweet, on the real.
And finally, no one is unapproachable. And certainly not when they put themselves out there on the Intertubes. Didn't you have the reverse problem?

I follow you because you're you, and not some cookie-cutter version of an internet presence.
On the matter of following, participating in social media doesn't mean one has the right to immediate, utter and unconditional reciprocation. People who don't get that have either just gotten their first modem or have trouble communicating in the literal world. It makes sense that they'd move just as clumsily through the virtual one. I'm so sorry you've experienced a critical mass of this kind of agita. I know it can be very disturbing.
I wish that the people who have given you reason to write this would understand where you're coming from. But it might not happen. Still—selfishly—it was beautiful to read what amounts to your love letter to the people you enjoy, cherish, and are jazzed by.
Lastly, you are VERY approachable. [also- rowrrr!] So why don't you just come on over here and cook some dinner for me already? We'll have a bottle of excellent sangiovese and laugh about these dweebs.
